It was fine with her. The point was to solidify her loyalty to him and that didn't mean he had to be looking back at her or, considering their response, that anyone would think to pay attention to such a small detail anyway. All that mattered was that she kept her pride on a leash and accepted the applause before it relaxed into something much easier.

"Thank you," She sighed again, shook off the lingering excitement that followed such an act and was thoroughly unprepared for his smile and that compliment. Just as when he'd complimented her before she faltered and her stomach twisted in a far too pleasant manner. Stupid, handsome smile. "That's - That's all that I want, so I am glad you think so." This would pass, he would go back to his careful watchfulness and she would think about kittens. Or her family, anything to distract from his smile and the memory of his kiss and how painfully short it had been.
