"I'd say that depends on what the surprise is. And what the questions are." He stepped into the tub after her, hesitating for a bare moment before settling back against her. Really, the tub was too short for him as it was, even without her in it as well; when he settled in, his knees were lifted almost to his chest. But that was fine. What was less comfortable, although he did his best not to show it, was resting up against her this way. Not physically, of course. The problem was with relaxing against her, with the pervasive feeling that he was trying to put off his responsibilities, weighing her down with them as much as with his body. The problem was that sex was one thing, but closeness was another.
